Definition
Special periods represent an enhancement of the last regular posting period. If the posting date falls exactly in the last regular posting period, an explicit entry can be made in the document entry that the transaction figures should be updated separately in one of the special periods.
It is for this reason that so many special periods are available for selection, as entered here.
