Use

You see a work area with a symbol for the data structure to be filled with data. By double-clicking this structure, you can call up a description of this structure and in particular of the required input fields. To the left of the work area, you find a toolbar with symbols for different data sources and transformations.

To fill the fields of the structure using a data source, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose a data source, for example an InfoProvider, and drag the appropriate symbol into the work area by keeping the left mouse button pressed. In the dialog box that appears, specify the details for this data source. In the case of an InfoProvider, for example, you specify the name of the InfoCubes or of the ODS object.
  2. If you want to use a filter, select the filter symbol (located in the toolbar between the InfoProvider symbol and the structure symbol) and drag it in the same way into the work area.
  3. Connect the data source with the filter and the filter with the structure by dragging lines between the small red arrows (connectors) beside the symbols. Again, you drag the lines by keeping the left mouse button pressed.
  4. Double-click the InfoProvider symbol again and choose the fields that are to be read by the system.
  5. If you use a filter, then select the filter symbol, select the fields for which you want to enter conditions, and then formulate the desired filter conditions. Note that you can only use fields that you previously selected in the InfoProvider.
  6. Double-click the data flow arrow with the field assignment symbol and assign the fields provided by the data source to the corresponding fields of the input structure.
