Use

You can choose the content type for every selected field. The content type can be Continuous (CNT) or Discrete (DST). Depending on this content type, Basic Statistics gives you elementary information about the values of the fields. For discrete and for continuous fields, Basic Statistics shows a frequency table of the most frequent values. Only for continuous fields, a value distribution in intervals, the mean value, the standard deviation and other figures are displayed additionally.

Activities

For every field you can change the content type.

Example

When Basic Statistics is called, a content type is proposed for every field: Continuous content type for numerical fields and Discrete content type for non-numerical fields. E.g. the field color with the values red, blue, ... gets as proposal the content type Discrete. The field revenue with values between 0 and 1000 gets as proposal the content type Continuous. If gender is coded as integer (1 for male, 2 for female, 0 for unknown gender), then you should change the proposed content type Continuous to Discrete, since it makes no sense to compute the mean value. If you have set Continuous content type for a non-numerical field, then Basic Statistics changes the content type automatically to Discrete during execution.
