Documentation
Definition
The rounding rule defines which criteria are used to round off a specification in years, months, days, and decimal days.
Supplementary Documentation - RNDRL 0001
Use
A rounding rule defines how the system rounds the decimal days, days, and months. The system always rounds to the higher unit.
The rounding rule converts 30 days to a month and 12 months to a year. Only use a rounding rule if the calculation rule is evaluated with a conversion rule that uses years, months, and days.
The rounding rule would otherwise generate unwanted results. If the evaluation uses days, the rounding rule would round a result of 80 days to 2 months and 20 days.
Procedure
Examples
You can define a rounding rule which rounds up 15 and more days to one month.
A time specification of 5 years, 6 months and 17 days would be rounded up to 5 years and 7 months according to the rule above.
