The indicator "External document" identifies documents that were posted to Profitability Analysis from an external system.
In connection with the summarization of external document items during the CO-PA update, an "external document" refers to an IDoc (intermediate document) or BAPI (Business Application Programming Interface) that feeds data from an external system to the interface for Accounting.
