Definition

A time type is a grouping of times according to various aspects such as payment regulations, internal company requirements and control tasks.

A time type assigns a meaning to a time interval. The balances formed in time evaluation are posted to the time types.

When you customize the system, you can define for each time type whether

  • it should be transferred to the day/period totals
  • it should be taken over from the previous period/year
  • it should be transferred to cluster B1 (for entry data)

Use

If the employee is assigned an attendance quota and an overtime record is recognized in time evaluation (RPTIME00), this time is then stored under the time type specified here. If the employee is only authorized for part of the overtime, only part is stored under the time type.

If you enter a time type here, the entitlement can be reduced for this particular attendance quota if part of it has been used up. You can thus initiate a recalculation for RPTIME00. The recalculation determines how much of the quota has been used according to the reduced entitlement.

Use

If you enter a time type here, it is set to the value of the number field in the Time Transfer Specifications infotype (2012).

Procedure

Examples

If an employee's flextime balance exceeds 10 hours, you should post the excess hours to a different time type.

Please enter the time type for flextime balances here and in the Con field.

Dependencies

If you enter a condition in the Con field, the time type is only set to the value of the number field in the Time Transfer Specifications infotype (2012) if the condition is fulfilled.

Supplementary Documentation - PT_ZTART 0003

Use

The time type which you enter here is used to determine the employee's planned working time. Please make sure that the time type is filled with the correct number of hours in time evaluation.

Standard settings

In the standard system, time type 0002 contains an employee's planned work.

Supplementary Documentation - PT_ZTART 0004

Use

The time types specified for this selection option are used to determine the actual number of hours worked by an employee. Please make sure that the time types are filled with the correct number of hours in time evaluation.

Use

If you enter a time type in this field, the system uses the base entitlement from the amount specified in the day balance rather than the direct value.

This allows you to store detailed rules for determining the base entitlement in a personnel calculation rule.

Procedure

Examples

Dependencies

  1. The time type you use must be set up in the Define time types step such that it is saved as a day balance.
  2. Please note that the personnel calculation you use to transfer the base entitlement to the day balance must be placed before function CUMBT in the time evaluation schema.

Use

If you enter a time type in this field, the system uses the base entitlement from the amount specified in the period balance rather than the direct value.

This allows you to store detailed rules for determining the base entitlement in a personnel calculation rule.

Procedure

Examples

Dependencies

  1. The time type you use must be set up in the Define time types step such that it is saved as a period balance.
  2. Please note that the personnel calculation you use to transfer the base entitlement to the period balance must be placed before function CUMBT in the time evaluation schema.

Use

Enter the time type that you want the system to compare with the value limit.

The value is taken from tables TES, ZES, and SALDO, depending on the cumulation data.

Please note that if the value is capped, the original result of the cumulation is no longer available. If you want to retain this result, you can transfer the value to the time type specified under Transfer time balance to time type.

Procedure

Examples

Dependencies

Supplementary Documentation - PT_ZTART 0009

Use

The capping differences that arise when the time balance is set to a fixed value can be transferred to another time balance.

Procedure

Examples

The value of the flextime balance at the end of the period should not be more than 5. If an employee has worked more, you want the extra hours to be transferred to a time in lieu entitlement.

Enter the time type in which the values are cumulated.

Dependencies

Supplementary Documentation - PT_ZTART 0010

Use

This time type contains the value used by the system to check the value limits. The system fills the value regardless of whether the value limit was exceeded. The conditions regarding the age and check point, however, must be fulfilled.

This enables you to run reports using the value or to check the value.
