Documentation
Definition
Defines the factor used to weight the selection class within the valuation model.
Use
The system uses this weighting factor to valuate the selected periods in the employment period calculation. The weighting factor 1.000 is the neutral value and means that the selected periods are imputed in full.
This weighting factor weights the complete selection class and is independent of the weighting factor type for the selection class or rule. Both weighting factors can be used together. This means that a selection rule that has already been weighted once can be weighted a second time using this factor. This second weighting, however, only uses the selection class.
Example
A selected period from January 01, 1995 to August 31, 1999 has the following weighting:
Selected period Weighting factor Weighted period
4 years, 8 months 1.000 4 years, 8 months
4 years, 8 months 0.500 2 years, 4 months
4 years, 8 months 1.250 5 years, 10 months
Further notes
If a valuation model consists of several selection classes, the selection periods may overlap. If this is the case, the system multiplies the overlapping weighting factors together and valuates the overlap period with the resulting factor.
If a period exists with the factor 0.000, this period is removed from the evaluation.
