Definition
Determines the start date from the result of a calculation process in the Employment Period Calculation infotype (0553).
Use
If you assign a priority to this field, you must also specify a calculation process. The calculation process is the subtype of the Employment Period Calculation. If a record exists for this subtype, the system generates a start date.
If several infotype records exist, the system derives the valid record using the selection date.
Example: The calculation process evaluates the Date Specifications infotype (0041). Several records exist with the same date type for the employee. The system uses the infotype record that is valid on the selection date.
Dependencies
To create a record for the Employment Period Calculation infotype, you must perform a calculation using the specified calculation process and then save the result in this infotype. To do this, view V_T525P or V_T525Q (Calculation Process Empl. Period Calculation) must contain the following entries for the calculation process:
- A function module for the additional logic must be defined.
- The Save result as indicator is active.
The period or date-based duration is generated according to the defined result type.
Priority concept
The system users the date with the highest priority as the start date of the interval. The number 1 is the highest priority.
The start date can be determined
- From a date type in the Date Specifications infotype (0041)
- From an initial entry date in the Contract Elements infotype (0016)
- From the Entry into group date in the Contract Elements infotype (0016)
- Using the function module HR_ENTRY_DATE
- From the result of a calculation process in the Employment Period infotype (0553)
The assigned priorities specify the sequence in which the system searches for the dates. The search ends when the first date is found. If no priority is assigned to a field, the R/3 System does not evaluate the accompanying infotype when the start date is determined.
Determination of end date
Define the end date of the period in the End date of generated basic interval field. The system generates a period from the start date with the highest priority and the defined end date. However, if the start date is after the generated end date, it is ignored.
Determination of key day for date-based duration
The system uses the selection date as the key date for the duration.
