A tax calculation procedure contains important information on the tax deductions. For example:
- Should an annual employment tax declaration be performed?
- Should the wage be adjusted continuously?
- How should the annual wage be calculated?

Use
The tax procedure entered here is used in payroll. The procedure's authorization is checked during the payroll run.
For example, if you have chosen a procedure with the income tax declaration and this is not allowed, an alternative procedure is carried out in payroll without an income tax declaration.
Procedure
In Customizing, you can set the default value for the tax procedure by choosing 'Payroll Germany --> Tax --> Master Data --> Determine Default Values'.
This default value can be overwritten.
