Definition

Indicates that the material is environmentally relevant.

Dependencies

When you save a delivery in the Sales and Distribution (SD) component, the system checks whether the delivery contains a material for which the "Environmentally relevant" indicator is set.

If it does, the SD pricing procedure is used to select a message with message type SDB.

The selected message is then used to forward to delivery data (material, recipient, sales organization etc.) to the Product Safety component. Further checks and functions are then carried out within Product Safety:

Automatic report shipping

• if an environmentally relevant material is assigned to a substance
• if this substance requires a material safety data sheet in the jurisdiction of the ship-to party
• if the Product Safety Customizing for report shipping is configured accordingly and the system can select a suitable report
