Definition
All public holidays that are partially or fully encapsulated by the annual leave entitlement and/or accruals of the employee, starting from the termination date, have to be paid out as public holidays.
Enter the wage type to pay out the public holidays when an employee is terminated.
You have been provided with the model wage type Public holidays on Termin (M162).
The following scenarios are supported:
- You can use this wage type to pay out the public holidays encapsulated by annual leave entitlement.
Example,
An employee has 8 hours of annual leave entitlement during termination. The 8 hours are spread from the termination date to get the hours of encapsulated public holidays. Enter the wage type that you have configured to pay out the public holidays.
- You can use this wage type to pay out the public holidays encapsulated by annual leave accruals and entitlements. For this, you must set the Accrual in PH indicator.
Note: You cannot pay out the public holidays encapsulated by annual leave accruals alone.
- If you have more than one Absence Quota Type that have to be considered for the public holiday payout, you can use the same wage type.
Example,
An employee has annual leave entitlement and long service leave accrual that have to be used for the public holiday payout.
An employee has 8 hours of annual leave entitlement and 8 hours of long service leave accrual during termination. In this case, 16 hours are spread from the termination date to get the hours of encapsulated public holidays. Enter the wage type that you have configured to pay out the public holidays.
Note: In order to do this, configure only one wage type for all Absence Quota Types that need to be considered for public holidays payment during to termination. For example, M162 needs to be configured for both Annual Leave Quota Type as well as Long Service Leave Quota Type.
