Definition
Identifies the way that the discount for loans granted by INFONAVIT (Housing Fund) or FONACOT (National Fund for Workers' Commercial Credits) will be distributed. This field does not apply when the discount by percentage option is chosen, because in this case the discount will be based on the number of days that qualify for Social Insurance coverage.
There are three ways to carry out this discount:
- Discount per payroll period is fixed (A): the deduction is applied even in the fifth week. This means that a deduction will always be applied, which means that the discount will be greater in months containing 5 weeks than in months containing 4 weeks.
Example
Fixed installment discount: $100
Employee Discount
Monthly employee $100
Fortnightly employee $50 * 2
Weekly employee 4 weeks: $25 * 4
Weekly employee 5 weeks: $25 * 5
- Discount does not apply in the last surplus period of the month (B): the monthly deduction set by the relevant institution is divided between 4 weeks. When a month has 5 weeks, no discount will be applied in the final week.
Example
Fixed installment discount: $100
Employee Discount
Monthly employee $100
Fortnightly employee $50 * 2
Weekly employee 4 weeks: $25 * 4
Weekly employee 5 weeks: 5th week without discount
- Discount divided between the number of perionds in the month (C): a variable deduction is applied, that is, when a month has 4 weeks the deduction will be divided between four, and when a month has 5 weeks the deduction wil be divided between five. This means that the deduction amount will not always be the same, and there will be greater discounts in some months than others.
Example
Fixed installment discount: $100
Employee Discount
Monthly employee $100
Fortnightly employee $50 * 2
Weekly employee 4 week: $25 * 4
Weekly employee 5 week: $20 * 5
This field only applies to weekly and fortnightly emloyees.
