Definition

Instrument for controlling the planning and allocation of budgets.

The budget status determines which functions are available for processing budget structure elements.

Possible budget statuses and what they mean:

  • 1 - Proposed
Budget structure elements can be created and assigned budgets.
  • 2 - Fixed
This status is used to show that an overall budget has been drawn up, and that it cannot be edited until it is executed.
  • 3 - Released
The overall budget has been released and can be executed.
    • Positions and persons can be financed by the budgets of budget structure elements.
    • You can make budget updates and transfers.
    • You can define budgeting rules.
  • 4 - Locked
Budget structure elements cannot be executed, nor can their budgets be changed (e.g. by means of transfers).
  • 5 - Completed
Once the overall budget has been completed, no further changes can be made to it.

Procedure

The budget status is set to reflect the stage that an overall budget has reached.

The budget status can only be set for the entire budget hierarchy.

You cannot change from one budget status to another as you please. Possible combinations are predefined in the system.
