Documentation
Definition
The booking priority is a numeric value between 00 and 99 which you can use to weight your module bookings. The booking priority is divided into three intervals:
- Essential booking
- Normal booking
- Waiting list booking
Use
When you create a module booking, you can either choose one of the three booking priorities manually, or you can let the system assign the priority automatically. The following restrictions apply here:
- When the optimum capacity is reached, only essential and waiting list bookings can still be created.
- When the maximum capacity is reached, only waiting list bookings can still be created.
If the system assigns the priorities automatically, it creates a normal booking until the optimum capacity is reached. Between the end optimum capacity and the maximum capacity, it creates an essential booking.
Dependencies
You can define the interval limits for each booking priority in Customizing for Campus Management and in Customizing for Training and Event Management. You can use the minimum priority of a waiting list booking to flag students as eligible to move up. For more information, see the IMG activity Define Standard Booking Priorities in Customizing for Campus Management.
