Use
You can assign a student directly to an organizational unit. By doing so, you explicitly define the principal organizational unit of the student.
Further notes
You do not have to explicitly assign the student to an organizational unit. The system implicitly assigns the student to an organizational unit when the student is registered for a program or when module groups are selected. The implicitly assigned organizational unit is referred to as the derived organizational unit.
