If you define the start date, end date or period for which an activity is valid, the system stores this for-period data in the activity document header.

Example

You want to execute the sessional registration activity for the summer session of the 2004/2005 academic year. The summer session starts on 01.04.2005 and ends on 31.10.2005.

In the sessional registration activity document, the system stores the dates 01.04.2005 and 31.10.2005 of the summer session in the 2004/2005 academic year as the start and end of the for-period respectively.
