Documentation
Definition
Organizational aspect of a business event type
The delivery mode describes how the learning content of an academic event is organized (as a lecture, tutorial, or as an e-learning session).
Use
The delivery mode also determines whether you have to create a business event or a time-independent event from the business event type.
- The business event has a schedule with exact dates and times, and it requires resources (rooms and instructors).
- A time-independent event does not have a schedule nor does it require any resources. It is used for e-learning sessions as well as for planning events which do not yet have a set schedule.
Dependencies
The delivery mode is used in Student Accounting when calculating tuition fees.
Example
Your university offers videotaped lectures for certain modules. To map this in the system, you create a business event type with the following attributes:
- Category: Lecture
- Delivery mode: Video (time-independent event)
A videotaped lecture is a time-independent event and therefore does not require a schedule model.
