Definition
Select this indicator to decide whether the number of days of unpaid absences should be calculated as calendar days or working days. This number of days of unpaid absences is subtracted from the number of ESI working days in a month to calculate the number of days for which wages are paid to an employee, which is printed on the two forms.
- If you select the Calendar Days option, the system considers the calendar days (as per the work schedule) as the number of unpaid absences.
For example, Saturday and Sunday are holidays, and the employee is absent on Friday and Monday. In this case, the number of unpaid absences is 4, where the system considers Saturday and Sunday as unpaid absences.
By default, the system selects the Calendar Days option.
- If you select the Working Days option, the system considers the working days (as per the work schedule) as the number of unpaid absences.
For example, Saturday and Sunday are holidays, and the employee is absent on Friday and Monday. In this case, the number of unpaid absences is 2, where the system does not consider Saturday and Sunday as unpaid absences.
