Definition
To be eligible for tax exemption, the employee should have traveled by a national carrier and can only claim exemption on an amount not more than the cost of traveling economy class by air.
Indicates the class of travel in which the journey was undertaken.
Note
Class of travel entered in this field must pertain to the modes of travel specified in the field Mode of travel.
Example
The employee undertakes a journey with one stopover. He or she flies economy class on the first leg of the journey and travels first class by train on the second leg.
The data entered here would be economy class by air and first class by train.
