Definition
Indicates the actual amount invested under the investment item.
The amount entered is be considered only if the Considering actual investment check-box is marked.
The invested amount may be more than the limit specified for the item (if any), but for a tax rebate, the limit amount is considered.
Example
If the limit for a particular investment item is Rs. 10,000 and the actual investment is Rs. 12,000.
Rebate on tax will be on Rs. 10,000 only as it is the maximum limit. Likewise, if the actual investment amount is Rs. 7,000, then Rs.7,000 will be considered for a tax rebate.
