Definition

The employee's length of service with his or her previous employer. This field is used in two different areas:

• Retirement schemes
• Long service payment/severance payment

Retirement Schemes

Some MPF/ORSO or similar-type schemes takes into account an employee's previous years of service when determining the contributions to these schemes.

Note

Those schemes that take into account an employee's previous years of service will have the Include Credit YOS for Previous Employment checkbox selected. You can find this option in the Contribution plan attributes view, V_T7HK2B.

Long Service Payment/Severance Payment

If you enter any previous service period here, the system will take this amount into account when calculating the employee's long service payment or severance payment.
