Definition

A fixed amount per payroll period which the employer wishes to contribute to MPF for the employee. It is an addition to mandatory contributions.

It is summed up with Employer contribution of relevant income below maximum and Employer contribution of relevant income in excess of the maximum to get the employer's total voluntary contribution to MPF for the employee.

Examples

For example, Employee A's monthly relevant income is $35,000, his employer wishes to contribute 5% of relevant income below the maximum, 3% of relevant incme above the maximum, and $500 per payroll period. Thus, the employer's total voluntary contribution for the employee is calculated as:

(35000 - 20000) * 3% + 20000 * 5% + 500 = 1950
