Definition

A fixed amount per payroll period which the employee wishes to contribute to MPF as an addition to mandatory contribution.

This amount is deducted from the employee's salary.

It is summed up with Employee contribution of relevant income below the maximum and Employee contribution of relevant income in excess of the maximum to get the employee's total voluntary contribution to MPF.

Examples

For example, Employee A's monthly relevant income is $35,000, he wishes to contribute 5% of relevant income below the maximum, 3% of relevant incme above the maximum, and $500 per payroll period. Thus, the employee's total voluntary contribution is calculated as:

(35000 - 20000) * 3% + 20000 * 5% + 500 = 1950
