Definition

Set this indicator to mark the flow type as "relevant for exogenous capital flow".

If the indicator is set, all flows based on this flow type are viewed as performance-neutral in- and out-postings for a portfolio. This has a significant impact on the yield calculation.

Note

Setting this indicator does not mean that the corresponding flow has no connection to a posting that has an impact on results, but rather that the impact on the results is already taken into account in the change in the portfolio position.

Examples (special business transaction categories):

  • The interest payment to a cash account changes the position and revenue of the same portfolio. There is no funds outflow, so you do not set the indicator.
  • The interest payment to a money market transaction affects the revenue of the transaction but not the position. Once the revenue has been updated, there is a performance-neutral transfer posting to an assigned cash account. A funds outflow takes place, so here you set the indicator.
