Definition
Specifies the rule with which the system calculates contributions for employees who join a supplementary insurance scheme within a payroll period. For flexible contribution, the system regards a month as a contribution period.
Use
Dependencies
You can specify a proration rule only if you choose a contribution frequency other than monthly.
If you want to define your own proration rule, implement the Determine Proration Rule (HRPYCN_CON_PRO_RULE) Business Add-In (BAdI).
Example
An employee joins a supplementary insurance scheme on February 15. The contribution frequency of the insurance policy is quarterly, and the first contribution month is March.
Depending on the type of proration rule that you choose, the system calculates the contribution amounts as follows:
Rule Month of First Contribution Contribution Calculation
1 No proration: effective in current contribution period March The system calculates the full contribution amount in the first quarter.
2 No proration: effective in first complete contribution period June The system calculates the full contribution amount in the second quarter.
3 Prorated by month: include incomplete contribution month March The system calculates a third of the quarterly amount for February and March respectively. Therefore, the contribution amount for this period equals two thirds of the full contribution amount.
4 Prorated by month: exclude incomplete contribution month March The system calculates a third of the full quarterly amount for March, but it does not calculate any contribution for February. Therefore, the contribution amount for this period equals one third of the full quarterly amount.
