This field contains the official date on which the presiding legal authority releases the employee from his or her payment obligations under the garnishment. This date corresponds to the date set forth in official correspondence, not the date of entry into the system.

Procedure

In this field, enter the date that the garnishment legally loses effect.

Example

A payroll administrator receives a letter from the presiding court on July 2, 1999. The letter, dated June 30, 1999, indicates that employee wages, effective that day, are no longer subject to garnishment.

Consequently, the administrator enters 06/30/1999 in this field.

Standard settings

As delivered, the standard system uses the current date as the default date for this field.
