Definition
If this checkbox is active, then the system will calculate the federal rule for the non-exempt amount and compare it to the amount calculated under the model non-exempt amount rule, if such a rule has been established. After comparing the rules, the system will select the lower non-exempt amount and apply it to the garnishment.
If no rule exists for the model non-exempt amount and this checkbox is active, then the system will apply the federal rule to the garnishment.
If no rule exists for the model non-exempt amount and this checkbox is inactive, then a non-exempt amount will not be calculated. Consequently, the entire disposable net will be used to satisfy garnishment debt.
