You use this field to specify how the system creates the Payslip Tax for an employee if a certain combination of tax procedure and tax exemption reason exists.

Use

In the standard system, you can select the following entries for creating the L16 payslip:

  • L16(01) or L16(18)
  • L16(02)
  • Without exemption L16(01) or L16(18), with exemption L16(08)
  • Without exemption L16(23), with exemption L16(08) AND L16(23)
  • L16(08)
  • E18

Dependencies

Example

For employees liable for tax without restriction (tax procedure 1) who are exempt from tax for construction projects abroad (tax exemption L), the payslip types "L16(23)" or "L16(8) and L16(23)" must be created. In this case, the type of payslips created depends on whether a a double taxation convention (DTC) with exemption method exists:

  • Without exemption method: Income is to be taxed in Austria but is partly exempt from taxation. The system creates payslip type L16(23) for the employee.
  • With exemption method: The system creates payslip L16(08) for the portion exempt from tax according to the DTC. The system creates payslip L16(23) for the portion exempt from tax due to the tax exemption for construction projects abroad.
