Enter an absence.

Use

You can use this function to copy data from an illness notification from ELDA to the Absences infotype (2001). This function is available for a specific period, provided the following conditions are fulfilled:

• The Absences infotype (2001) does not contain any information for this period.
• The Illness Reporting from EDLA A infotype (3248) contains an illness notification.

Dependencies

The system automatically selects an appropriate absence type in the new record in infotype 2001. The absence type selected depends on the reason for the incapacity to work specified in the illness notification. You can make the relevant assignment in Customizing for Define Absence Types for New Absences Added under Payroll Austria -> ELDA Sick Leave Certificates -> Comparison.

Example

• Absence not yet entered
  You receive the illness notification for a given employee via the ELDA file. You have not yet entered an absence for this employee, however.
• Employee was ill for longer than expected
  You have entered an absence with the absence type Illness for a given employee. An illness notification also exists in infotype 3248. However, the illness lasts longer than expected, and you receive via the ELDA file a change notification with a later end date for the illness notification.
  No absence is yet entered in infotype 2001 for the period of the extended sick leave.
  By entering the absence, you extend the existing record in infotype 2001 (the valid to date is updated).
• Employee fell ill earlier than originally specified
  You have entered an absence with the absence type Illness for a given employee. An illness notification also exists in infotype 3248. However, the illness started earlier than originally specified, and you receive via the ELDA file a change notification with an earlier start date for the illness notification.
  By entering the absence, you extend the existing record in infotype 2001 (the valid from date is updated).
