Definition

This field is used to specify which day of the week you want the leave to be on, for example Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and so on.

This field is particularly useful for graduated return to work where an employee may be on leave every day for only part of the day.

Normally when you enter a start time and an end time, the start time applies to the first day of the leave only and the end time applies to the last day of the leave only.

By choosing an option in this field you will ensure that the start time and end time is applied to each day between the start date and end date specified, where the day in question is defined by the option you entered in this field.

Example 1:

Book leave from 13.09.1999 to 17.09.1999, with time as 8:30 to 12:30. Choose the option Apply to every day of the week in the Day indicator field.

Expected outcome in this scenario is:

13.09.1999 4hrs deduction (8:30 to 12:30)

14.09.1999 4hrs deduction (8:30 to 12:30)

15.09.1999 4hrs deduction (8:30 to 12:30)

16.09.1999 4hrs deduction (8:30 to 12:30)

17.09.1999 4hrs deduction (8:30 to 12:30)

Total leave deduction would be 20hrs (4hrs/day * 5days).

Example 2:

Book leave from 06.09.1999 to 30.09.1999. Choose the option Tuesdays only in the Day indicator field (that means, only Tuesdays to be deducted during this period).

Expected out come in this scenario is:

07.09.1999 7.35hrs deduction

14.07.1999 7.35hrs deduction

21.09.1999 7.35hrs deduction

28.09.1999 7.35hrs deduction

(only Tuesdays within the leave period from 06.09.1999 - 30.09.1999 are deducted)

Total leave deduction would be 29.4hrs (7.35hrs/day * 4days).

Example 3:

Book leave from 13.09.1999 to 17.09.1999, with time as 14:00 to 11:00. Choose the option Not Applicable in the Day indicator field. (Assume the planned working time is from 8:00 to 16:00.)

Expected outcome in this scenario is:

13.09.1999 2hrs deducted (14:00 to 16:00)

14.09.1999 7.35hrs deducted

15.09.1999 7.35hrs deducted

16.09.1999 7.35hrs deducted

17.09.1999 3hrs deducted (08:00 to 11:00)

Total leave deduction would be 27.05hrs (2 + 7.35 + 7.35 + 7.35 + 3).
