Definition

Defines a time window for LWOP and unauthorized leave impact.

Procedure

Enter one of the following values:

  • AY - Referring Anniversary year
  • AC - Referring Calendar year
  • AL - Each Period of LWOP

Example

AY - Referring Anniversary year

Assuming that the employee has three LWOP periods in the Monthly or Pay Period.

The calender year starts on 01.01.1998 and ends on 31.12.1998.

The anniversary year starts on 02.05.1998 and ends on 01.05.1999.

The LWOP periods last 12, 9, and 15 calendar days respectively and the LWOP threshold value is 10.

For calculating the total amount of days to be considered for the anniversary year, you accumulate all of the LWOP periods, which is 12+9+15=36 days, and check it against the threshold. Since 36 is greater than 10, the next anniversary date will be deferred by either 36 days or 26 days depending upon the Considering total LWOP days field.

AC - Referring Calendar year

Please refer to the following Scenario for the clear understanding.
Let us assume that our anniversary year starts by 12.04.2002 and
ends by 11.04.2003 and also assume that we have two lwop

(L1(10)+L2(15)) between 12.04.2002-31.12.2002
and two lwop(L3(15)+L4(5)) between 01.01.2003-11.04.2003.
Total LWOP = 45 days and threshold is 30 days.

In this Scenario the Anniversary enddate should not be deferred where
as in anniversary year threshold it should be deferred because it has
45 days of LWOP and greater then threshold. The important point here
is that threshold should be reset to zero for every calendar year.
In the above scenario, if we have additional 10 days of LWOP between
12.04.2002-31.12.2002 then it should defer the anniversary end date.

AL - Referring Each period of LWOP

Please refer to the following scenario for the clear understanding. Let
us assume that anniversary year starts by 12.04.2003 and ends by
11.04.2004 and also assume that we have three LWOP present in this
period( L1 - 10days, L2 - 25 days, L3 - 35 days). In this example,
we have to compare the each LWOP(i.e. L1 against the threshold 30 and
check whether it is greater then 30. If it is greater then 30 then
that many days has to be moved/reduced). In this case L3 is greater
then 30 and all other L1 & L2 are not greater then 30. So 35 days
has to be moved/reduced. In this case Unauthorized Leave is not counted
towards LWOP.
