Documentation
Definition
Specifies the wage type that is used to store the leave loading payment in.
Use
SAP recommends to configure a wage type for each leave and its quotas respectively. This enables you to have a clear overview of the payment results, and it is easier for reporting. Other fundamental reasons for this recommendation are:
- A different leave loading payment based on absense is not possible when all quotas have been assigned to a single wage type.
- A meaningful leave loading payment on termination is not possible. Such payment is configured in tables Termination Payment Type (T5QPBS4B), Assignment between payment formula and payment rule group (T5QPBS4C) and Leave Payment Rules (T5QPBS4E), dependent on leave type and assigned quotas. If there is no individual assignment of the leave loading wage type to the absence quota or absence type in this table (T5QPBS5A), a payment of leave loading for individual leaves on termination in above the mentioned tables is not possible.
Of course, you can use a wage type for different quotas that are assigned to an absense in tables Absence Quota Types (T556A), Counting Rule for Attendances and Absences (T556C) and Rules for Deduction Sequence for Absence Quotas (T556R), especially if the dependence of leave loading percentage, valuation basis and payment business rule on termination are the same for a wage type assigned to different quotas.
Procedure
Example
If a single wage type is assigned to many quotas, it may cause problems if the quotas have different rules for payment purpose. This is shown in the following example:
One leave type has multiple quotas, which are assigned via tables T556C and T556R as follows:
- Leave type 100 (recreational leave) uses two quotas, 50 and 60.
- Leave type 200 (sick leave) uses quota 70.
Now, a single wage type MMMM for leave loading is assigned to quotas 50, 60 and 70 in table T5QPBS5A. System will generate the wage type MMMM correctly. But if the user requires a payment due to leave type 100 (recreational leave), the system will also pay entitlement that is generated due to leave type 200 (sick leave), because quota 70 is assigned to the same wage type. The same thing will happen if you have leave loading payments on termination.
So the recommendation is that a wage type is assigned at least for each absence type, even if not necessarily for each quota. This will ensure correct payments and also provide a clear overview of the results, for example which payment is meant and how it is generated.
