Definition
There are 2 options for this field;
X Yes.
i.e. Cost Distribution is performed in every period as the calculation of the cost obeys the 'When Earned' principle.
' ' No.
i.e. Cost Distribution is only performed in the current period as the calculation of the cost obeys the 'When Paid' principle.
EXAMPLE
In Great Britain, NI (National Insurance) is calculated on a 'When Paid' principle, so this box must be left empty for the distribution of employer's NI contributions.
In Great Britain, Pension Contributions are calculated on a 'When Earned' principle, so this box must be ticked for the distribution of employer's Pension contributions.
However, there will be occasions when a country specific cost calculation allows that these basic principles can be overridden in certain situations.
E.G. In Great Britain NI (National Insurance) is calculated on a 'When Paid' principle, so this box must be left empty for the distribution of employer's NI contributions (/302). But the "NI Payments In Error" solution allows NI to be re-evaluated during retro and in which case the cost distribution will have to be re-evaluated during retro as well.
This override is not available during customising and is only performed during the Country Exit provided in the Payroll Function XDEC.
