Definition
With this field you can define what kind of mapping you want. When defining the layout to be sent for eLetters, one can choose:
- Field mapping only. In that case only the field mappings as defined in the field mapping table T7FIEC will be used to fill the contents of a channel from corresponding fields of the remuneration statement
- Channel mapping only. In that case only the channel mapping is used by taking the contents of the window on the remuneration statement to which the channel is mapped and transfer those contents directly to the channel
- Channel and field mapping. In that case first the window from the remuneration statement will be mapped to the channel contents (so as in channel mapping). Afterwards the field mappings will be applied and corresponding definitions of the field mapping will overwrite the channel mapping.
The mapping is used to enable different levels of definition.
The channel mapping only is easy and straightforward, but it will also put all data from the window on the remuneration statement to the channel of the eLetter, thereby sending also information which is possibly not needed at all by the form at ePost
The field mapping only is involving a lot more work than the channel mapping only, but it gives one the possibillity to exactly identify which content from the remuneration statement shall be put to which position in the channel.
The channel and field mapping can be used if in general the information to be printed in a channel can be found in a window on the remuneration statement, but some info has to be found somewhere else.
