Definition
Determines that algorithm one includes special working conditions that have been entered for the same period of time during seniority calculation.
Use
If you do not set this indicator, algorithm one does not include multiple entries of special working conditions that refer to the same period of time during seniority calculation.
The reason for this is that it is not possible for an employee to work in two different kinds or special working conditions at the same time. In this instance, the algorithm for seniority calculation subtracts the duration of the second set of special conditions from the period of time for which the employee worked in the first set of special conditions.

You can only set this indicator if you use algorithm one to calculate seniority

The special conditions entitle an employee to take early retirement.
If you set this indicator, the seniority is calculated using the first record for special conditions code, that is 3P12B:
31.12.2001 - 01.12.1996
= 30.0.5
Length of time in special conditions = 5 years and 30 days
If you do not set this indicator, during the seniority calculation, the system subtracts the duration of the second record (3P12A) from the period during which the employee worked in the first set of special conditions. The calculation subtracts the duration, since it is not possible for an employee to work in both conditions at the same time:
(31.12.2001 - 01.12.1996) - (4 months + 10 days)
= (30.0.5) - (10.4.0)
= 20.-4.5
Length of time in special conditions = 4 years, 8 months, and 20 days
