Definition
To enter/display interdiction type in this field. As example, HR may impose the following:
a) Withholdment of increment
In accordance with the IM, the Permanent Secretary may withhold an officer's increment when disciplinary action is being contemplated or instituted against the officer.
b) Withholdment of Financial Penalty
The Permanent Secretary may withhold an officer's allowances in addition to the withholdment of increment when disciplinary action is being contemplated or instituted against the officer.
c) Cessation of Pay
In accordance with the Regulations, pay should be ceased when an officer is convicted in court and has not been interdicted from duty.
d) Interdiction on Half-Pay or No-Pay
In accordance with the Regulations, an officer can be interdicted from duty on half-pay or no-pay if:
· the officer commits a serious offence, which warrants his removal from the service
· the officer is a threat to the department and cannot be re-deployed
