Definition
Specify the date type used for storing Employment Date and Coherent Date of Employment. LAS report (RPLLASS0) reads these date types to obtain the dates for calculating the notice period that the company must give to an employee, in case of a lay-off.
Note
Employment date
This is the hiring date of an employee, for the current period of employment.
Coherent date of employment
An employee is with the organization for multiple periods of employment. To enable calculation for the complete employment duration, you must maintain the coherent date such that earlier periods of employment are in continuity with the current period.
Example
An employee is with the company from 01/01/2005 to 31/12/2005 and then rehired again on 01/01/2007. In this case, maintain the coherent date of employment in Date Specifications infotype (0041) as 01/01/2006. This ensures that the system takes into consideration the one-year duration from the previous employment period, while calculating the complete employment duration.
Standard settings
In the standard system, the following date types are available:
- S2: Employment date
- S3: Coherent date of employment
You can also use customer specific date types for the same.
