Definition
Indicates if this family member is regarded as a dependent of the employee or not.
Use
The employee is eligible for a certain amount of tax deduction because of supporting dependents. This indicator determines how the system makes deductions during the payroll runs.
Note
As of January 1, 2011, supporting a dependent that is less than 16 years old is not eligible for tax deduction. You maintain such dependents' information by selecting Yes in this field, and Junior Dependent (4) in the Deduction for Age Group field.
