Definition

Indicates the date from which an employee takes leave of absence.

Example

Consider that an employee takes a leave of absence from January 20, 2010 to January 25, 2010 and again from January 28, 2010 to February 20, 2010, due to sickness. While executing payroll in February, the system splits the absence into two segments, AP for the first six days of the month and the remaining absences as TP. Here, the system considers the absence begin date as February 1, 2010 for the first absence record, and February 7, 2010 as the absence begin date for the second record.
