Documentation
Definition
All employers must register with the Receiver of Revenue (SARS). Upon registering, they are issued a PAYE tax reference number. This number allows employers to deduct taxes according to the PAYE tax specifications as stated in the South African Income Tax Act.
Note
Your company must register for their own PAYE reference number(s). These numbers are determined in SAP terms by personnel areas/subareas.
A PAYE tax reference number designated as a creator indicates that the employer or bureau is the responsible party for submitting electronic tax certificates to SARS.
