Definition
For certain salary components, you are requested to select a category to uniquely determine the value of the salary component. The view of a category depends on the salary component.
Procedure
Enter a code representing a salary component category.
Examples
For the salary component Pension Fund (South Africa), the category view allows you to select the relevant Company and Fund.
For the salary component Company Car (South Africa), the category view allows you to select a car model.
A category can also represent a particular amount or percentage that can be selected for a particular salary component.
Dependencies
Based on the category view types, also set the settings in the Input setting field (from the Salary packaging: Salary components table T5W7A) accordingly.
As in the above salary component Company Car example, the Input setting would be set to Amount off - Percentage off, as an amount or a percentage is not applicable for the category available.
Furthermore, if you are configuring a category view for a salary component, you must indicate in the Categ. F4 help field, the name of the function module used for the F4 categories. For example, for the salary component Company Car, the function module HR_SPA_F4HELP_COMPCAR was created.
