Definition

The amount entered in this field indicates how much of the remainder portion of an employee's total package is allocated to the salary component selected.

An entry in this field is required if:

• a salary component is the remainder of an employee's total package, and
• the remainder is spread over more than one salary component.

Examples

An employee's total package of R200,000 consists of the following salary components:

• Medical Aid R10,000
• Pension Fund R20,000
• Car Allowance R40,000
• The remainder is R130,000 and is spread over the salary components Basic Salary and 13th cheque in proportion 12:1.

  Both salary components have been set as Remainder in the Nature field. The Remainder part for Basic Pay is 12 and 1 for Bonus (13th cheque).
