For certain salary components, you are requested to select a category to uniquely determine the value of the salary component. The type of category depends on the salary component.

Example

For the salary component Pension fund (South Africa) , you must select in the Category field, a Pension fund Company and Fund.

For the salary component Company car (South Africa), you must select in the Category field a Car model.

A category can also represent a particular amount or percentage that can be selected for the salary component.
