Use

Select this checkbox if you want the system to consider the employee as a self contributor towards Employee Provident Fund (EPF).

Here, a self contributor is an employee who continues to contribute to EPF even after three years of service, when he or she is emplaced to pensionable establishment. In such a case, employees can still opt to contribute to EPF by submitting the Form KWSP 6A (1) and thereby, become a self contributor.

The employer's contribution towards EPF is optional if the employee is a self contributor. If the employer does not contribute towards EPF, then you need to maintain the personal rates and amount for employer in Employees Provident Fund (0196) infotype as zero.

Before you select this checkbox, you must select the Contributing to EPF checkbox to indicate that the employee contributes to EPF. Otherwise, the system generates an error message.

This field appears on Employees Provident Fund (0196) infotype screen only if :

  • Determine Income Tax Return Form (EA or EC) (LEAEC) feature returns the value EC, indicating that the employee belongs to the public sector industry
  • Minimum contribution of the employee towards EPF is 50 MYR. If you do not maintain this, the system generates an error message.
