Definition

Specify the percentage at which the salary and wages is to be taxed. This is the percentage of tax variation that the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has approved for the employee on salary and wages. This does not include the bonus amount.

Maintain the normal tax scale in the Tax Australia infotype (0188), based on which the bonus payments are taxed.

Use

Dependencies

  • If the ATO gives a tax percentage as variation for all payments that includes salary and wages, and bonuses, then maintain this tax percentage in Tax Australia infotype (0188).
  • The Standard Australian Taxation rule (QTAX) decides whether a tax variation on salary and wages exists for the employee and taxes Taxable Gross 1st envelop wage type (/111) accordingly.
    • If you maintain a tax percentage in this field for salary and wages, then Taxable Gross 1st envelop wage type (/111) is taxed at this percentage.
    • If you leave this field blank and deselect the Use Infotype 0188 field, then Taxable Gross 1st envelop wage type (/111) is taxed at zero percentage.
    • Bonus payments are always taxed as per the percentage maintained in Tax Australia infotype (0188).

Note

If you have selected Use Infotype 0188 field in Income Tax Withholding Variation-AU infotype (0817), the system ignores any value maintained in Salary and Wages Tax Percentage field. It uses the salary and wages tax percentage as maintained in Tax Australia infotype (0188) instead.
