Definition
If the payment is a death benefit ETP paid to a dependant of the deceased, the assessable amount must equal zero.
Otherwise the assessable amount must equal: 0.05 x (Pre-July 83 + Concessional component) + (Non-qualifying component + Post-June 83 untaxed element + Post-June 83 taxed element).
