Definition
Specifies the language used for official correspondence sent to the employee.
Use
You use this field to record the language that applies to the employee's official or state-related correspondence. Official correspondence involves documents from the state, government, or social insurance authorities.
The system determines the offical language based on values in the Personnel areas/ subareas (V_T5B1P) table. For more information, see Customizing for Maintain Personnel Subareas and Company Codes.
You can change this field value, if required. Applicable languages are restricted to french (FR), dutch (NL), or german (DE).
Dependencies
Note that the official language is not determined by the employee's home address, the employee's work address, or the employer's address. The system determines the official language based on the subarea of the employee.
