Documentation
Definition
Indicates the minimum CO2 emission percentage; this reference value is used as a lower threshold for company car tax advantage calculations.
Use
The minimum CO2 emission percentage is used as follows:
- When the CO2 emission of a company car is less than the CO2 reference, then the CO2 percentage of the car is decreased
- The resulting CO2 emission percentage cannot be lower the minimum CO2 emission percentage (as defined by the Belgian authorities)
Dependencies
- The minimum CO2 emission percentage is defined using the Define CO2 Emission Percentages and Limits Customizing activity
- The minimum CO2 emission percentage is used in the Company Car (Belgium) (B0442) payroll function
Example
Consider an example diesel car X with an emission of 70 gm/km (CO2 emission).
- The basic CO2 emission percentage is fixed to 5.5%, and the CO2 reference is 95gm/km (CO2 reference)
- The minimum CO2 emission percentage is 4% (for year 2012)
Car X has a CO2 emission that is lower than the CO2 reference, therefore the CO2 percentage has to be decreased, as follows:
- 70-95 = -25 --> -25 * 0,1 = -2.5% --> 5.5 + -2.5% = 3%
In this case, the calculated CO2 emission percentage is lower than the minimum threshold (4%). Therefore, the CO2 emission percentage is set to the minimum threshold (4%) and not 3%.
