Documentation
Definition
Indicates that indexation is applied on the basis of a daily social welfare allowance amount.
Social welfare allowances (for example, illness, or unemployment allowances) are indexed to compensate for cost-of-living changes.
Use
You select this radio button to index an employee's social welfare allowances using a daily allowance basis; this adjusts an employee's daily allowance amount by the specified adjustment percentage.
If indexation on a daily allowance basis is selected, then the system indexes the employee's social welfare allowances, as follows:
- A daily benefits amount is determined (monthly theoretical amount divided by a fixed factor (26))
- The adjustment percentage is applied to the daily benefits amount and then rounded
- The rounded value is multipled with a fixed factor (26) to calculate the monthly theoretical amount
Note: Indexation using a daily allowance basis is mandatory for some types of allowances, for example, for unemployment allowances.
Dependencies
The system applies indexation using the CI Payments - Social Welfare Benefit Adjustments (RPUCIDB0) report.
An employee's social welfare benefit amount is defined in the Indemnity Definition (BE) (3270) infotype.
Example
Consider a monthly theoretical amount of 1,394.64 EUR with positive indexation of 2% applied on a daily allowance basis. The calculations for indexation using a daily allowance basis are outlined, as follows:
- ( 1,394.64 EUR / 26 ) * 1.02 = 54.71 EUR
- 54.71 EUR * 26 = 1,422.46 EUR
Compare this example with indexation applied on a monthly allowance basis (for example, due to career interruption). The calculations for indexation using a monthly allowance basis are outlined, as follows:
- Monthly theoretical amount = 1,394.64 EUR
- Positive indexation of 2% is applied on a monthly allowance basis
- 1,394.64 EUR * 1.02 = 1,422.53 EUR
