Documentation
Definition
Indicates the period of time (number of months) for which an indemnity payment applies.
This number is used to convert theoretical complementary indemnity values to payment and contribution amounts, and is declared in the DmfA declaration.
Use
The system determines the complementary indemnity number of months based on values in the Indemnity Payment (BE) (3271) infotype record, as follows:
- Reference indemnity payment period = (Reference capitalization period) / (Number of planned payments)
This number takes into account incomplete payment periods as well as payment frequencies other than monthly.
The theoretical complementary indemnity amount relates to a value per month. However, each defined theoretical indemnity amount can be valid for a single or multiple months.
This field is used in the P3270 and in BSV00 payroll functions.
Dependencies
To enable a similar calculation for social insurance (SI) purposes, the reference indemnity payment period (for which the theoretical value applies) is declared in the DmfA declaration.
Example
The reference indemnity payment period depends largely on how the indemnity payments are capitalized. Consider an employee with 48 months remaining until the end date of his SUIC period, as follows:
- If the indemnity payments is not capitalized (capitalization payment type = 0)
Reference indemnity payment period = 1 (48/48 = 1) - If the indemnity payment is fully capitalized (capitalization payment type = 1)
Reference indemnity payment period = 48 (48/1 = 48) - If the indemnity payments is partially capitalized (capitalization payment type = 2) with four planned payments
Reference indemnity payment period = 12 (48/4 = 12)
